Terms of Service
The deal between you and showrun
Plain English, no legalese maze. These terms cover what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. Read them once, and you're good.
Last updated: June 2026
The agreement
showrun is built and run by TDT Productions, a company based in the Netherlands. When you create an account or use the app at app.showrun.nl, you're agreeing to these terms. If you're using showrun on behalf of a company or crew, you're confirming you're allowed to accept these terms for them.
You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live (at least 16 in most of the EU). If you can't agree to these terms, please don't use the app.
Your account
You sign in with Google or with an email and password through Firebase Auth. Your login is yours to look after — keep your password private, and don't let other people use your seat. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so if you think someone's gotten in, change your password and let us know at info@tdtproductions.nl.
Invite as many viewers and followers as you like — those are always free. Editor seats are the ones that count toward a plan once we start charging (more on that below).
Beta notice — read this one
showrun is in free public beta. That means it's live and real and people are running actual shows on it, but it's still moving fast. Here's the honest version:
- The service is provided "as is." Features can change, move, or get pulled while we figure out what works.
- There's no uptime guarantee yet. We work hard to keep it solid, but we're not promising five nines during beta.
- Don't make showrun your only copy of a show. Export a PDF and pull a .showrun backup before anything that matters, so you always have your rundown in hand.
One thing that never changes: showrun never fires a cue. A human calls the show. We give you the grid, the timing, and the calling mode — you make the call.
Your content stays yours
Your rundowns, notes, cell text, logos, and everything else you put into showrun belong to you. Full stop. We don't claim ownership of any of it.
To actually run the app, we need a narrow bit of permission: the right to store your content, sync it across devices, and display it to the people you've invited to your show — your editors, viewers, and followers. That's it. We use this permission only to operate showrun for you and your team. We don't sell your content, and we don't use it to train anything.
Acceptable use
Use showrun for running shows, not for causing trouble. Specifically, don't:
- Upload or share anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
- Abuse, scrape, reverse-engineer, or hammer the service in ways that mess it up for other people.
- Resell or rebrand showrun as your own product, or hand your account access around to dodge paying for seats.
If someone's clearly misusing the service in a way that harms others or breaks the law, we may suspend or close the account. We'll be reasonable about it.
Subscriptions & billing
Right now, during public beta, showrun is free. When we introduce paid plans, here's the shape of it (all prices ex-VAT):
- A free-forever tier so you can keep running shows without paying.
- A €25 Show Pass — a one-off, per-event unlock if you just need to power through a single show.
- Pro at €29/mo (€290/yr) and Studio at €59/mo (€590/yr) for crews that live in showrun.
- Viewers and followers are always free. You only ever pay for editor seats.
When billing goes live, payments run through our EU Merchant-of-Record, who handles the charge and the VAT on our behalf. Annual plans give you roughly two months free versus paying monthly, and come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can cancel anytime, and you'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We'll always tell you clearly before any of this kicks in — nobody gets surprise-charged coming out of beta.
Cancellation & your data after
You can stop using showrun and close your account whenever you want. Before you go, export your shows as PDFs and .showrun backups so you keep your own copies. After you cancel or delete your account, we'll remove your content from active service within a reasonable window, with short-lived backups aging out after that. If you'd like your data deleted sooner, email info@tdtproductions.nl and we'll sort it. See our Privacy Policy for the details on where your data lives and how we handle it.
Disclaimers & liability
We build showrun with real care, but during beta especially it comes without warranties — no promise that it'll be error-free or available at every moment. You use it at your own discretion, and you're responsible for keeping your own backups (told you so above).
To the extent the law allows, TDT Productions isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, missed cues, or knock-on costs from a show that didn't go to plan. If we are ever found liable for something, our total liability is capped at what you paid us for showrun in the 12 months before the issue (which, during free beta, is nothing). None of this limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Changes to these terms
As showrun grows, we may update these terms. If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top and, where it matters, give you a heads-up in the app or by email. Keep using showrun after a change and you're accepting the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and any disputes go before the competent Dutch courts. If you're a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections your local law gives you.
