Privacy
Your shows are yours. Here's how we treat your data.
No dark patterns, no ad trackers, no selling your data. This page explains what we collect, why, where it lives, and the rights you have over it — in plain language.
Last updated: June 2026
showrun is a tool for running live shows, so we get it: when the clock's ticking, you don't have time to wonder where your rundown went or who can see it. This policy is written to be read, not just filed away. If anything here is unclear, email us at info@tdtproductions.nl and a human will answer.
Who we are
showrun is built and operated by TDT Productions, a company based in the Netherlands. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), TDT Productions is the data controller for the personal data described here.
You can reach us about anything privacy-related at info@tdtproductions.nl. The app lives at app.showrun.nl.
What we collect
We try to collect as little as we can while still running a reliable service. Here's the full picture:
- Account info. When you sign up, we store your email address and your name (or display name). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google — not your password.
- Your content. The shows, rundowns, cells, sections, notes, timings, roles and any logos you upload. This is your work product — we store and sync it so it's there when you need it, on every device on your team.
- Basic usage & diagnostics. Things like which features get used, error logs, device/browser type and rough technical info that helps us spot bugs and keep the app fast. We don't build advertising profiles from this.
- Billing details (later). showrun is a free public beta right now, so there's no billing yet. When paid plans start, payment and invoicing details are handled by our EU Merchant of Record — we don't store your full card number on our own servers.
How we use it
We use your data for a short, honest list of reasons:
- To run the service — store your shows, keep your account working, let you sign in.
- To sync — push your edits to your team in realtime and keep everyone on the same page.
- To support you — answer your emails, debug problems, and improve the product.
- To bill you — once paid plans exist, to process payments and send invoices for editor seats.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for third-party advertising. Your show content is never used to train AI models.
Where it's stored
Your data is hosted on European Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure, in the multi-region eur3 (Europe). In plain terms: your shows and account data stay in the EU. We chose this on purpose — as a Dutch company serving European crews, keeping data in Europe is the default that makes sense.
Processors & sub-processors
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run showrun. Each one only processes the data needed to do its job, under appropriate data-processing terms.
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Hosting, authentication (sign-in), and the realtime database that stores your shows | EU (region eur3) |
| Merchant-of-Record payment partner | Processing payments and invoicing for paid plans (future) | EU billing |
| Transactional email provider | Sending account and service emails (sign-in, notifications, support) | EU |
If we add or change a sub-processor, we'll update this page. Where any provider processes data outside the EU, we make sure appropriate safeguards (like Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
Cookies
We keep cookies boring and minimal. We use only what's needed to sign you in and keep your session secure. There are no third-party advertising trackers by default, no cross-site ad pixels, and no selling of your browsing behaviour. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the app is used, but that's about counting features — not tracking you around the web.
Your GDPR rights
Because we're in the EU and you very likely are too, you have strong rights over your data. You can:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — fix anything that's wrong or out of date.
- Deletion — ask us to erase your account and data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability — get your data in a portable format so you can take it elsewhere.
- Objection & restriction — object to certain processing or ask us to limit it.
To exercise any of these, just email info@tdtproductions.nl from the address on your account. We'll respond within the timeframe GDPR requires (normally within one month). You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — in the Netherlands, that's the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Data retention
We keep your account and show data for as long as your account is active. If you delete content or your account, we remove it from our live systems, and it ages out of routine backups shortly after. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it — for example, billing and invoice records once paid plans begin.
Children
showrun is a professional tool for live-event crews. It isn't directed at children, and it isn't intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from under-16s. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email info@tdtproductions.nl and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
As showrun grows — especially when paid plans launch — we may update this policy. When we make a meaningful change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where it matters, let you know in the app or by email. Your continued use after a change means you've seen the current version.
